Passed out lots of flyers!!Chapter Ride: None Correspondence: two returned post cards.Hats passed for Food Drive $114.00. Downed Rider $60.00Minutes last Meeting: Motion/Second to dispense of reading minutes. Copies on tables.Treasurer Report: $29,648.00 Membership Report: Total Members 142Membership Drawing: Steve Degman for $25.00, not present! Next meeting $30.00Legislative Report: Dave – City of Portland restored their Public Order Team. E bicycles have 3 classes now. Class 3, if you are 16 or older, no helmet required. SB1503 Community Safety bill for suicide prevention, passed. School busses will now have camera on their fold out stop sign.State Board: No meeting/no report.Bike Pac Report: Dave - Bike Pac no report.Executive Board Meeting: Minutes were read.Education/Safety Report: We are still in need of a volunteer for this position.Historian Report: Hoss is working hard on getting everything together. Both in books and online. He would like to get a scanner to help with his progress.Social Media Report: Dave: Facebook 286 members. Instagram 191 membersWebmaster Report: James is updating SE site, Chek out the front page for the mini mall.Chapter Chaplain Report: God is the light. In him there is no darkness.Road Captain Report: no reportPublic Relations: Dave –The Roadster show went well. No Tolling was not there, but keep your ears and eyes open. Gov. Kotek keeps flip flopping. Thanks to Rep. Susan McLain from the joint transportation committee, they will, more than likely, move forward on tolling in 2025. Will need to get all new signatures on petitions.Ways & Means/Products: Buy your tickets. If you ride to the meeting, and purchase tickets, you get one free. Buy your 50/50 and win some cash………. Check out the products that are for sale.BREAKRun/Committee ReportsCraig got a crew together at Costco and did the shopping for the canned food delivery on Friday. (3/29). On Saturday (3/30) they delivered the food to a very appreciative group at the City Team Mission. Only two bikes showed up with a handful of others. It would have been nice to have a bigger turnout. April 21, 2024 SE Portland ABATE Swap. Need Volunteers to help out. We are holding meetings every Tuesday at Highrocks, at 5:00, to iron out all the details.Old Business: Membership drive January 1- May 31, 2024. Min. of 5 paid members to SE Chapter. All new members count. Previous members count if their membership has lapsed for at least 3 years. Member=1, spouse=1 or paid couple=2. Adding a family membership, counts as zero. The winner will be announced at July meeting. The winner gets 5 grams of gold. Membership Director, Craig Blair, will administer the contest. Anna has 6 signed up, Tom has 1. We were reminded that the money from the 50/50 goes to the Shriners fund.New Business: A motion was made to cancel the April 21 meeting due to it being the same day as the swap. All were in favor. A motion was made, to be taken to the state, for Dave to become alternate State Facebook editor. Motion was passed in favor. We need certificates of appreciation for donated spaces at the PIR and the Roadster shows. Mike has tickets for a rifle raffle. Proceeds go to the Oregon Republican party. Discussion was made about who is alternate state rep for our chapter.
